“Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Escuminac Disaster.” June 19-21st, 2009
On June 19-20TH, 1959, a fierce storm ripped through the Northumberland Strait, taking the lives of 35 local fishermen who were out drifting for salmon. This tragedy impacted the vitality of many, adding to the faces of our heroes from yesterday and today.
